Photo Challenge!

September 19th, 2007

Gather round children, we're about to begin the first ever Uninam Photo challenge.

What is a photo challenge you ask? Well...

A photo challenge is basically a quick competition between the riders and guests on who can get the best photo, related to a theme or specific subject that they're given at the beginning of a challenge. Once the entries close, veiwers can check out the photos and vote on the one they like best. It can be anything you want so long as you can tie to the theme, some challenges will be more specific than others. You can go for humour, or and arty look, or something dramatic, it's up to you, so long as it's not illegal, horribly graphic or a picture of Dubya, Helen Clark, John Howard, or any other political figure - we don't need to see that in our email when we log in.

Challenges are voluntary so not all riders have to participate, though the more that do, the more fun it is. Every two or three days while we're on tour there will be a photo challenge based around a Vietnamese, Travel or Unicycle theme, or else whatever we think of when we're bored.

Entries should be emailed to Ken, all riders will have his email, on tour they can just be downloaded directly onto the laptop.

Ok, the first challenge is...

Ways to Smuggle a Unicycle

It's prohibition, except for it's for unicycles, you've got to get a unicycle across a border. Show us how you would do it.

Prize: A chocolate fish or other item of confectionery

Get going! Entries close at the end of this week.

Oi! You!

September 02nd, 2007

Ok, few new things.

In the next few weeks we'll be sending out an info pack to all riders and guests containing the following;

  • A list of ideas for fundraising
  • A press release template and some ideas for getting attention from local and internet based media
  • Some buttons and signature links that you can use in forums, networking profiles and so on
  • A list of specs that you can show to potential sponsors
  • An outline of the ways you can help the tour (and reduce your own costs)

In the meantime, get out there and tell everybody you know about this whacky site. And start blogging and putting up photos. We're going to be introducing some new features very soon and there will be prizes. We haven't decided just what prizes yet, but there will be prizes if I have to go through the neighbors rubbish to find them. Those guys throw away some good stuff.
